There was no way to contact the unsuspecting husband. Dropping off the horse and buggy, he was greeted by grieving friends. His wife was already in the grave. Morse cried out to God for answers. Soon the foundations of today’s internet would be laid.

In 1837, Morse had a working model of the world’s first electric telegraph. By 1843 he had secured government funding. It changed the world forever. The first words Samuel B. Morse tapped out on his newly developed electronic telegraph were “... what hath God wrought?” The famed father of communications was highlighting the prophecy of the evil sorcerer Balaam, in Numbers 23.

Although Balaam was hired to curse God’s people he could not! So instead, he blessed them saying: “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, 'What hath God wrought!'” – verse 23.
